Hi Joe and Niki!
I hope all is well with you guys and your families! I’ve been stoked to listen to your new podcast. It brings back great memories from my time down there. In fact, looking back more than 10 years later now, I can say it was probably my favorite overall job. Thank you so much for that original opportunity! It was easy to take it for granted back then as my first gig out of college, but after working an 8:00 to 6:00 desk job for the past 8 years, I realize now I definitely didn’t know how unique and special that time was.
I think at the end of my time there I was just exhausted from recovering from dengue, the intense amount of sun, etc. I probably should have just taken some time off to re-energize myself and kept working there instead of moving back. I can’t complain too much though because I met my wife in Florida not too long after moving back to the US, so it was meant to be.
Anyway, I’m trying to get closer to the feeling of freedom I had with work back then. I just quit my job last week to focus on photography and website work again. With a 3 year old and a 4 month old, I’m not looking to move back to Central America right now, but if you ever have a need for a photographer for a project or for your businesses, I’d be stoked if you kept me in mind. Take a look at my site to see some of my newer work from over the years.
I’m looking forward to listening to the Mark Cunningham interview next week!
