Dear Deanna,

I'm intrigued by the Director of Photography position and wanted to reach out to express my interest and to start a conversation with you about it.

Photography has been one of my main passions for the past decade and a half. Shooting photos, researching photography, and exploring the work of others are things that I very happily do in my free time. The photos included with this cover letter, as well as the rest on the website, can give you a little bit of an idea of my personal style and the things that I value. You will see my appreciation for the natural world as well as my desire to show a person’s connection with it. My love for the craft of photography and for the subject matter that Patagonia captures would make the job of Director of Photography extremely fulfilling. It would be an honor to help lead the photo editing team.

It has been a dream of mine to work somewhere where I have the opportunity to work with a tribe of like minded people working towards a greater purpose. Patagonia has been at the top of that list for quite a while. In college I was able to hear Yvon speak at an event about his book Let My People Go Surfing. His philosophies expressed there, as well as in 180 Degrees South and in other films, books, and articles have helped to shape my worldview.

Please scroll down to review my resume, and I invite you to look through the rest of my website through the menu above to see some of my personal photo work.

Thanks for your time,

Keith Novosel
